Le Villard is a beautiful traditional old French farmhouse in the Creuse Limousin, the bed and breakfast (chambre d'hotes) is located between Gueret and Ahun. Gueret is a 10 minute drive, Aubusson 30 minutes and Ahun 5 minutes. We are located in the centre of the Creuse - ideal for exploring the area.
The house is set in its own grounds of approximately 1 acre, surrounded by beautiful countryside within a small hamlet. All the properties within the hamlet are of similar style. Traditional houses in the Creuse are built of granite and the area was once famous for its stonemason "artisans" who were sought all over France - they even travelled as far as Paris leaving their families for months at a time to build the beautiful, world renowned buildings that we all know today such as the Cathedral at Notre Dame.
Nowadays the Creuse is more famous for Limousin cows, apples, chestnuts and of course the beautiful, green pastures and countryside, which explains why it is known as the "Lake District of France". You will experience the exceptionally friendly locals who will always welcome you wherever you go.
Our bed and breakfast (chambre d'hote) has 3 bedrooms - two doubles and one family room comprising of a double bed and two singles. All our bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms or shower rooms. The bedrooms are decorated in traditional French style and offer everything you will need for your stay including towels, bath/shower products, hair dryer and tea/coffee making facilities.
All guests are welcome to use the sitting room, dining room (when not in use), terrace and garden. Guests are welcome to wonder throughout the house and grounds, and would be more than welcome in our farmhouse kitchen to recount their day's activities and experiences!
